Digital farms will be created in Kazakhstan’s Kostanay region, said deputy head of the regional agriculture department Timur Beisembayev, according to Kazinform.

He noted that thanks to the digitization program, a Roadmap for Rapid Success has been developed in the region.

Initially it envisaged 77 projects, but then their total number reached 130.

According to the Digital Kazakhstan program, Kostanay is considered Kazakshtan’s leading region in sectors of agriculture and health. Presently, 33 of the 130 projects have already been implemented in the fields of education, health, housing and communal services, transport, security, industry, small and medium-sized businesses, as well as agro-industrial complex.

"In September, using the Qoldau.kz web platform, we were able to create electronic maps of pastures. Currently, there are 4.2 million hectares of mowing in the region, and 251,300 hectares of them are included in the digitization program," Beisembayev said.

He noted that together with the Agriculture Ministry, until 2022 it is planned to create six smart farms and five digital farms.

In addition, smart technologies are being introduced in Kostanay in tillage, poultry farming, dairy and meat farming, and they have already begun to reduce the costs of agricultural producers, increase productivity and profits.
