Turkmenistan and Japan signed a number of bilateral documents following a joint business forum in Tokyo, the local television channel Altyn Asyr reported.

The new contracts cover joint projects, including the construction of plants for production of ammonia and urea, for processing of natural gas and production of gasoline, and a workshop for production of phosphate fertilizers.

An agreement on cooperation and supply of the Komatsu excavation equipment and the Toyota vehicles to Turkmenistan was also signed with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC).

The message also says that JBIC, which has in its portfolio a number of loan agreements with the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan, spoke during the talks “in favor of the speediest finalization of a draft intergovernmental agreement on investments and preparation of an investment cooperation program between the two countries."
