Cargolux Airlines International S.A. of Luxembourg is now provided with preferential fuel rates for refueling at all airports of Turkmenistan, the "Neutral Turkmenistan" newspaper reported.
Preferential rates will be applied to not only technical, but also to commercial flights.
Cargolux, which ranks sixth in the world in terms of freight traffic, has been operating regular flights from Luxembourg through Turkmenbashi Airport to Hong Kong, Budapest, Vienna, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and other cities for more than three years.
The airline's aircraft make more than 20 landings at Turkmenbashi Airport each week. With the introduction of new tariffs, the freight carrier of Luxembourg can deliver goods on favorable terms using the airports of Ashgabat, Turkmenabat, Mary and Dashoguz.
The cargo terminal in Ashgabat is capable of handling 200,000 tons of cargo per year. In the first nine months of 2018, more than 1,500 aircraft have landed on Turkmenistan's airfields.
