New candy factory cuts Uzbekistan's sweets imports by 40%

The production of the Amilov candy factory in Uzbekistan has allowed reducing the import of corresponding products by 40 percent, the press service of the president of Uzbekistan said referring to Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to the factory.

According to the information, the enterprise with a project cost of $62 million was set up on the site of the former Tashkent Paint Plant. The factory has been commissioned after the reconstruction of the building. Modern equipment from Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, and the Netherlands has been installed in the factory. The enterprise provided jobs to almost 830 people.

The factory’s production capacity is about 50,000 tons of confectionery products per year. Chocolate, candy, cookies, waffles, a total of 60 types of sweets are being produced in there.

The company intends to export products worth $10 million per year.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed to expand the production capacity of the enterprise, increase the number of such factories, and localize the production of other types of imported products.
