In January-September 2018, foreign citizens in Azerbaijan spent 1.002 billion manats by using bank cards, which is 25 percent or 205 manats more than in the first nine months of last year, reads the Export Survey, prepared by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications of Azerbaijan.

In September, the value of transactions with bank cards of foreign citizens in Azerbaijan amounted to 114 million manats (an increase of 23 percent compared to September last year).

Over the past nine months, foreigners spent 141 million manats in August, which is the highest figure, and 91.1 million manats in February, which is the lowest figure.

In January-September 2016, foreign citizens spent 413.6 million manats in Azerbaijan by using bank cards, while in January-September 2017 they spent 797.1 million manats.

For the nine months of this year, 2.2 million foreign citizens and stateless persons from 193 countries visited Azerbaijan, which is 6.4 percent more than in the same period last year.
