Over one million ton of cotton has been delivered to the procurement centers of Turkmenistan, the local TV channel Altyn Asyr reported.
The farmers of S.Turkmenbashi district, who delivered more than 47,200 tons of cotton, were the first in the Dashoguz province of the country to successfully fulfill their contractual obligations for the production of raw cotton.
The state procurement prices for wheat and cotton have been increased starting from 2019 in accordance with the decrees of the President of Turkmenistan, the message says.
“The special agricultural land funds have been created from arable lands of peasant associations for growing wheat, cotton and other crops to be delivered to the state, as well as vegetables and melons, potatoes, grapes and fruit trees. The land plots are allocated from these funds for use by joint-stock companies of Turkmenistan, peasant farms, other legal entities and citizens for a period of up to 99 years, the "Altyn Asyr" TV channel noted.
In addition, the peasant associations and farms, the agricultural joint-stock companies and scientific research institutes, tenants, private entrepreneurs and other producers of agricultural products can acquire preferential bank loans, in particular for the purchase of machinery and equipment used in this industry, the message says.
