Azerbaijan intends to adopt the best practices of the leading European organizations engaged in seed production, Head of the State Seed Fund of Azerbaijan Emin Aliyev told Trend.
Aliyev said at present the State Seed Fund is actively establishing bridges of cooperation with foreign partners.
"We are actively negotiating with the European Seed Association, with the International Seed Federation in order to make use of their experience in this important segment of the agricultural industry. It is well known that the European seed producers are more advanced, they have more opportunities and higher technologies. Therefore, we cooperate with Dutch and German specialists, as well as study the technological chain in the activities of European farmers," Aliyev said.
He noted that Azerbaijan is ready to cooperate with any foreign organization that is directly related to the seed production and seed industry, in order to eventually establish the production of high-quality seeds.
Aliyev said the Seed Fund, as a body subordinate to the Ministry of Agriculture, is very actively working with the regional centers for agrarian development in order to study the demand in the domestic market for agricultural products.
