PM: Slovakia keen to open embassy in Azerbaijan (UPDATE 3)

Slovakia intends to open an embassy in Azerbaijan, Slovak Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini, who is on a visit to Baku, said on Nov. 13.
The prime minister stressed that the country intends to open an embassy soon. This decision is correct as the embassy will facilitate cultural and economic exchange between the two countries, he said.
Pellegrini said he is pleased that minister of economy of Slovakia informed minister of economy of Azerbaijan that an agreement on establishment of an intergovernmental commission between the two countries will be signed soon.
He said this will bring the relations between the countries to a higher and more qualitative level.
Pellegrini stressed that Azerbaijan is a country the economy of which has been dynamically developing over the past period.
According to the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee, trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Slovakia for nine months of 2018 exceeded $20 million. Almost the entire trade turnover accounted for import of Slovak products.
