In the near future, Iran and Iraq may increase trade turnover volume up to $20 billion, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said.
Rouhani made the remarks at a meeting with Iraqi President Barham Saleh, ILNA reported.
He said that the trade turnover between the two countries is about $12 billion. The trade turnover volume may be increased through bilateral efforts up to $20 billion in the near future.
Rouhani added that today, negotiations have been held on electricity, gas, oil products, oil well exploration and oil extraction.
The Iranian president said the agreement was reached to establish a free trade zone between the two countries.
