Debts of Iranian banks revealed

The debts of Iranian banks total 770 trillion rials (roughly $1.83 billion), said Mojgan Khanlou, director for commercial and financial affairs at the Management and Planning Organization, Iranian media reported.

Khanlou noted that about 400 trillion rials of the debt (roughly $9.52 billion) account for Maskan Bank (Housing Bank).

He said that 80 trillion rials (roughly $1.9 billion) of the debt account for Bank Saderat.

According to Khanlou, Bank Saderat is followed by Ayandeh Bank with 47 trillion rials (roughly $1.11 billion), Tejarat Bank with 45 trillion rials (roughly $1.071 billion), Bank Mellat with 37 trillion rials (roughly $880.9 million), Bank Melli Iran with 17 trillion rials (roughly $404.7 million), Bank Tose'e Saderat with 9 trillion rials (roughly $214.2 million).

Khanlou noted that the debts of other banks are not significant.
