By Rashid Shirinov – Trend:

North Kazakhstan region intends to double the pace of agricultural machinery renewal, said First Deputy Governor of the region Aidarbek Saparov, according to the Kazakh media.

He noted that this will be possible through opening plants for assembling agricultural machinery in the region.

"Work is underway to create a joint venture for the assembly of CLAAS combine harvesters and tractors and HORSCH sowing machines. This will provide farms with high-quality agricultural machinery, create new jobs and increase machinery renewal twice," the deputy governor said.

He also noted the increase in the number of new agricultural machinery in North Kazakhstan region this year.

"In 2018, farms acquired 1,400 units of new machinery and tools, worth 27.2 billion tenge. This is 13 percent more than last year," Saparov said.

This year, more than 8,000 combine harvesters, including about 3,000 of high-performance, took part in the harvesting campaign in North Kazakhstan region. Grain and grain legumes crops were harvested on an area of more than 2.8 million hectares. Some 5.3 million tons were threshed with an average yield of 18.7 centners per hectare.
