33 investment projects underway in Kazakhstan's Karaganda region

Thirty-three new large investment projects worth more than 1 trillion tenge are being implemented In the Karaganda region of Kazakhstan, governor of the region Yerlan Koshanov said, according to the Kazakh media.

"Half of them are with foreign participation. Also, the first stage of the Alfarah wholesale and distribution center has been completed," he noted.

Speaking about the project, Koshanov informed that on 60 hectares of land there will be a large cluster with warehouses for 100,000 tons of products, own customs, wholesale and retail facilities, and cross-docks capable of serving 160 trucks simultaneously.

The governor pointed out that this center will meet the seasonal demand for food and smooth out price fluctuations.

"It will attract the traffic flows of the northern and southern regions of Kazakhstan and will allow to sell products without intermediaries," Koshanov explained.

The governor also said that in the Karaganda region a third of the economically active population is engaged in small and medium-sized businesses.

"Today 84,000 businesses operate in the region. The volume of production of small and medium-sized businesses reached 1 trillion tenge", Koshanov noted.
