By Rashid Shirinov – Trend:

Construction of a modern airport complex for civil and business aviation on the basis of the Tashkent-Vostochny airfield in Uzbekistan is planned to be completed in 2020, Trend reports with reference to the press service of Uzbekistan Railways.

According to the project, the airport will have two passenger terminals. The first is intended for meeting heads of state, officials and delegations. The second is designed to serve passengers and business representatives in accordance with international standards.

In addition, it is planned to construct a modern cargo terminal in the new airport complex. The airport is designed to receive and service all types of aircraft, including Airbus A380. The construction of two runways with a length of 4,000 meters meets all international requirements to ensure a high level of flight safety.

The project also provides for equipping the airfield with modern lighting, radio engineering and meteorological equipment of the III ICAO category, which will ensure the take-off and landing of aircraft in adverse weather conditions.

Currently, 17,000 cubic meters of concrete work has been completed on the first runway, while the volume of earthwork for the construction of the second runway is 125,000 cubic meters. More than 300 specialized equipment and mechanisms, as well as about 2,000 specialists and workers are attracted for the construction and installation works.

Soon, the new airport complex will have an administrative building, transformer substations, a refueling complex, a Ketring building and other necessary infrastructure.
