Presently, 17 industrial workshops with 93,000 tons of production capacity are engaged in manufacturing of wires and cables, operate in Iran’s Zanjan province, said Nasser Faghfouri, head of Zanjan Province Industry, Mine and Trade Organization, Trend reports via IRNA.

He said that investments worth 11 trillion rials (about $261 million) were made in these workshops and some 1,000 jobs were created.

“Efforts are made to increase the production potential of the electrical and electronics sector in the province,” he noted. “However, undoubtedly, there are some problems in this area. One of the most important problems is the changing price of raw materials and copper. In addition, delay in the payment of sales costs and volatility in foreign exchange prices also increase problems.”

He said that if steps are taken to eliminate these problems, the province may become one of the electrical, electronics and information technology centers.
