Kazakhstan will export at least 9 million tons of grain in the current marketing year, Trend reports referring to the Kazakh media.

Azat Sultanov, Director of the Department of Crop Production and Processing of the Kazakh Agriculture Ministry, said at a press conference that the country shipped 1.2 million more tons of grain and flour in grain equivalent compared to the last marketing year.

He added that as of January 20, the export of grain and flour in grain equivalent is 6.8 million tons.

The department director recalled that in 2018 the grain harvest was 22.4 million tons.

Sultanov also noted that in 2019 the grain harvest is expected to be higher than last year.

"The moisture is good, we will give quality seeds, so we expect the harvest to be even better than last year," he said.
