The second yellowcake shipment weighing 30 tons was loaded in Iran’s Shahid Rezai Nejad industrial complex and was sent to Isfahan uranium installations, Trend reports via IRNA.
The consignment was obtained from Saghand Uranium Mine and after being purified was packed and sent to Isfahan.
Yellowcake is a type of uranium concentrate powder obtained from leach solutions, in an intermediate step in the processing of uranium ores.
It is a step in the processing of uranium after it has been extracted, but before fuel fabrication or uranium enrichment.
The uranium extracted from Saghand Mine is changed into yellowcake in Shahid Rezai Nejad industrial complex.
