Iran will eliminate dependence on the UAE and Chinese shipbuilding and ship repair companies over the next two years, CEO of the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) Mohammad Saeedi said, Trend reports via Tasnim news agency.
He said that the IRISL and the Iran Shipbuilding and Offshore Industries complex (ISOICO) set up a five-year program.
He added that all the Iranian ships will be repaired within the country in accordance with the program.
“In the past three years, the main part of this program was implemented,” he said.
He added that this program will create new jobs and will also lead to technology development in this area.
