Iran is preparing the Salam terminal to be launched at the Imam Khomeini airport by the end of the year, the Imam Khomeini Airport Town Company representative Ali Rostami told Trend.
The Salam terminal with the capacity of five million passengers, is ready to be opened, and expected to be operational by the end of this Iranian year (on March 21, 2019)
"We are preparing the terminal, and installing equipment such as monitors, loudspeakers, we also seek to eliminate defects and, in general, furnishing the terminal," Rostami said.
"Hopefully, by the end of February, we will be testing the terminal, and another one after that. Following the tests, the terminal will become operational," he said.
"Since the official opening of the terminal is supposed to take place in the presence of Mr. President, it is likely that the opening ceremony will be postponed and be held after the New Iranian Year," Rostami explained.
