Uzbekistan to supply Russian hypermarkets with fruits

The Uzbegim Group from Uzbekistan's Syrdarya Region has agreed on the supply of Uzbek fruits and dried fruits to the hypermarkets of Auchan, one of Russia's largest retail chains, Trend reports via Uzbek media.

An agreement was concluded on February 11, on the first day of the international exhibition, ProdExpo 2019, which will last in Moscow until February 15.

The five stands of the exposition "Made in Uzbekistan" at ProdExpo 2019 presented fruits, fresh agricultural products, canned goods, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, teas, nuts and confectionery.

Tashkent-based Best Tastes Technology presented dried fruits and nuts under the UzKand brand and on the very first day of the exhibition agreed to deliver products to Russia and European countries.

The Uzbek company Crafers presented flour products, chocolate, caramel products and marmalade, marshmallows, jellies and other confectionery products at the exhibition. Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan are interested in the products, and Crafers plans to enter the markets of these countries in 2019.

At the Prodexpo 2019, some 2,440 exhibiting companies from 69 countries, including from all Central Asian countries, presented their products, but only 30 countries organized their national expositions and Uzbekistan was the only Central Asian state in this list.
