In January 2019, cargo transportation in Turkey amounted to 269,900 tons, which is 3.6 percent more compared to January 2018, Turkey's Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.
The ministry noted that in January 2019, domestic flights transported 68,000 tons of cargo, while international flights accounted for 201,600 tons of cargo.
"In January 2019, domestic freight traffic decreased by 10.9 percent compared to January 2018. At the same time, the volume of cargo transportation by international flights increased by 9.6 percent compared to January 2018," the ministry said.
The ministry added that in January 2019, the amount of cargo at the four main airports of Turkey reached 232,600 tons.
