Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan may supply agricultural equipment to Russia

Kyrgyzstan offered Uzbekistan to jointly produce and supply agricultural equipment to the Russian market at the meeting between the Agriculture Ministries of two countries in Tashkent, Trend reports via Uzbek media.

"During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the current state of bilateral cooperation, noting separately the positive dynamics of the development of a multi-faceted partnership between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. The minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Land Reclamation of Kyrgyzstan voiced interest in organizing the supply of Kyrgyz potatoes, beef meat and other products to Uzbek market," Uzbek Ministry of Agriculture noted.

Moreover, the status of implementation of joint projects in such areas as engineering, livestock, seed production and others was discussed during the meeting. In particular, Zhirgalbek Sagynbayev, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use of Kyrgyzstan, proposed jointly supplying co-production agricultural equipment to the Russian Federation market.

"We are in favor of effectively using the competitive advantages of our countries in the development of agro-industrial sector of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan," said Uzbek Minister of Agriculture, Jamshid Khojaev.

As a result, the parties reached an agreement to create a joint working group and define plans for 2019.
