Fishing products worth $26 million have been exported from Iran’s Mazandaran province over the past ten months of this Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), said Valiollah Mohammadzadeh, director general of Mazandaran Fisheries Organization, Trend reports via IRNA.
He said that exports increased by 120 percent compared to the same period last year.
“The economic value of the breeding and catching of various fish in Mazandaran is estimated at about 8 trillion rials (around $190 million) and is expected to reach 10 trillion rials (about $238 million) by the end of this Iranian year,” he said.
He added that 2,690 tons of various bony fish, mainly mullet, Caspian kutum and carp, were caught in the province Feb. 4-19.
