Kazakhstan exported 24,600 tons of fish products for $56.5 million in 2018, Trend reports via Kazakh media.
Of these, 2,900 tons were exported to China, said Saken Dildahmet, spokesman for the Forestry and Wildlife Committee at the Agriculture Ministry of Kazakhstan.
It should be noted that in order to expand the market between Kazakhstan and China, the countries agreed on a veterinary certificate. The registry of China includes 41 Kazakh enterprises, and another 10 enterprises are pending for inclusion in the registry.
Presently, 11 enterprises of Kazakhstan have the right to export fish products to the European Union.
At the same time, imports of fish products in 2018 amounted to 34,300 tons for $70.7 million. The main exporters are the US ($17.9 million), Japan ($11.7 million), China ($8 million), Spain ($6.8 million), Vietnam ($6.1 million), France ($5.4 million), Italy ($5.1 million), and Germany ($4.7 million).
