Railway to be built in southeastern Turkey

A railway will be built in Sanliurfa province in southeastern Turkey, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend March 18.

The railway’s total length will be 15.3 kilometers.

“The railway will consist of 16 stations,” the ministry said.

The project of its construction is at the stage of development.

“As many as 225,000 people will be transported daily and about 80 million people annually via this railway,” the ministry said.

At the same time, the ministry didn’t disclose the cost of the project.

The total budget allocated for the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey for implementing transport and infrastructure projects in the country will amount to 64.275 billion Turkish liras in 2020-2021.

Some 31.183 billion liras will be allocated for the implementation of projects in 2020, which will be 3.413 billion liras more compared to the budget for 2019.

An amount of 31.092 billion liras will be allocated for the implementation of projects in 2021.
