Azerbaijan's Akkord Industry Construction Investment Corporation OJSC has completed the third phase of a project for the construction of pedestrian crossings on highways and railway junctions in Azerbaijan, a source at the company told Trend.

The source noted that the final implementation of the project is expected in June 2019.

"The project provides for the installation of railway barriers on the territory of 45,000 square meters. At the same time, the corporation is building high iron barriers at all railway junctions to ensure the safety of the population," the source said.

Akkord has taken an active part in the construction of road infrastructure in Galaba Square near the Ganjlik metro station in Baku and at the intersections of adjacent streets, designed by the Singapore company Surbana International Consultants PTC LTD.

Another large-scale project of the corporation is the construction of a road junction on Ziya Bunyadov Avenue. The implementation of this project helped to maintain unhindered traffic without traffic lights from the center of Baku to the Heydar Aliyev International Airport and from the airport along the Binagadi highway towards the center of the capital.

Presently, Akkord Corporation holds the leading position in the implementation of projects for the construction of bridges, tunnels and other road projects, in the construction of residential houses and other public buildings, as well as in the production of building materials.
