Kazakhstan to assemble tractors of world famous German company

The North Kazakhstan region intends to organize a SKD assembly of the world famous German company CLAAS on its territory, Trend reports via Kazakh media.

The region has a rather high level of depreciation of the machine-tractor park.

The age of 84 units of the tractor fleet is over 10 years, 72 percent of combines operate for over a decade too.

Agroformations are forced to use equipment that has worked out its resource.

In the coming years, local authorities intend to reduce the level of deterioration of tractors to 65 percent, and combine harvesters to 50 percent.

One of the solutions to update the technology is the development of own production of agricultural machinery.

Department of Agriculture of Kazakhstan states that from 2017 the region has been negotiating on the production of CLAAS equipment on the basis of Machine-Building Plant "Kaztechmash" LLP.

North Kazakhstan enterprise will provide the necessary production areas and buildings. In its turn, CLASS concern will provide technology, assembly line and testing and assembly equipment.

Last May, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the regional administration and CLAAS, according to which the joint venture in the North Kazakhstan region will assemble the following agricultural equipment: CLAAS TUCANO combines, CLAAS XERION tractors and other agricultural equipment up to 200 units per year.

To study the demand, the trial supply of 29 pieces of equipment CLAAS TUCANO was implemented. Of these, 16 units worth 2.5 billion tenge were sold in the region.

In the near future, the region is planning to start a large-unit assembly of 100 CLAAS TUCANO combine harvesters, XERION-4500 tractors and Horsh sowing complexes.

CLAAS is a European leader in the production of agricultural machinery. The company was founded in 1913 by the German entrepreneur and inventor August Claas in the territory of one of the most successfully developing federal lands of Germany - North Rhine-Westphalia.

The concern operates all over the world: the plants are located in Germany, France, USA, Russia, India, Hungary and China.

Every third sold in Europe combine harvester comes from the city of Harsewinkel, where the main production company of the concern is located.

CLAAS firmly holds world leadership in the production of forage harvesters.
