Ministry of Taxes of Azerbaijan will launch a website in the near future for online registration of individual taxpayers, said Alakbar Mammadov, Director General of the Department of State Registration and Control over Record-keeping of the Ministry of Taxes, Trend reports. He also provided details at the press conference held on April 16 in Baku and dedicated to the procedures for state registration of legal entities.

According to Mammadov, as of April 1, 2019, the number of registered taxpayers in the country reached 993,038 people. “Out of them, 128,261 taxpayers are legal entities, and the rest are individuals,” he said. In his words, last year, 68.9 percent of all taxpayer registrations accounted for online registration. In the first quarter of 2019, this indicator reached 81.3 percent, Mammadov added.

As many as 4,880 taxpayers were registered during March in Azerbaijan.

The new website for state registration of legal entities was also presented at the press conference on April 16. Thanks to the website, registration of legal entities, registration over record-keeping in tax authorities and opening of a bank account are now carried out as part of one procedure, which takes about 20 minutes to complete. The registration procedure is possible without using an e-signature, as it is sufficient to use the personal identification number (PIN) code.

By the virtue of ongoing reforms, Azerbaijan ranks the ninth among 190 countries in terms of the “Starting a Business” indicator in the Doing Business 2019.
