Kazakhstan exports agricultural products for over $600 M in two months

From January through February 2019, export of Kazakhstani agricultural products increased by 12.9 percent compared to the same period last year and amounted to $ 610.2 million, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.

Crop products and their processing were exported in the amount of $579.8 million, while livestock and its processing in the amount of $30.4 million.

The greatest volumes were achieved by the export of grain, oilseeds and leguminous crops, flour, oil and fat products, and fish and seafood. Uzbekistan, Iran, Afghanistan, Russia, Tajikistan and China were the main sales markets for Kazakhstani agricultural products.

For the first two months of the current year, the country delivered 1.2 million tons of wheat worth $213.8 million to foreign markets, which is 27.9 percent more than in the same period of 2018. Flour exports amounted to 293,900 tons worth $62.3 million. The grain and flour were mainly exported to the countries of Central Asia and Afghanistan.

in January-February this year, barley exports increased one and a half times and amounted to 480,800 tons worth$88.8 million, and 253,800 tons of flax, sunflower, rapeseed and safflower seeds amounting to $80.8 million were exported to foreign markets.

Export proceeds from the sale of vegetable oil to the markets of China, Central Asia, Iran and Russia are growing rapidly: export of flaxseed oil increased by 75.5 percent (4,600 tons worth $3.7 million), rapeseed oil - by 36.1 percent (6,300 tons in the amount of $4.6 million).

In the first two months of 2019, a little over 4,000 tons of fish and fish products worth $10.1 million were sent to the countries of the European Union, the CIS and China.

As for the growth rate of exports of meat and meat products, their exports doubled compared to the same period last year and amounted to 5,000 tons, of which more than half was beef (2,785 tons).

Russia, Uzbekistan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and Bahrain are the main importers of Kazakhstan's meat, meat products and live cattle for slaughter.
