Italy may cooperate in the creation of vineyards in Uzbekistan, using saplings from Italy adapted to the conditions of the region, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

The Uzbek delegation also agreed on the possibility of providing Uzbekistan with advanced Italian methods of growing vineyards for the manufacture of quality products for local consumption and for export abroad.

A presentation of Uzbekistan's wine industry was held in Italy, with hundreds of foreign experts attending the event.

The "Kagor Bagizagan", "Chinuri", "Bagizagan" and "Muscat" Uzbek wines were exhibited and assessed by the attendees. The experts said there are excellent prospects for Uzbek wines at the markets of Europe and Italy.

Currently, Uzbekistan is the most important producer of grapes and wine products in Central Asia.

In terms of wine production, Uzbekistan holds one of the leading places among the post-Soviet countries.

There are many companies and factories for the production of wine and alcoholic beverages in the country today. The largest of them are located in Samarkand and Tashkent.
