Romania’s Constanta Port and Azerbaijan’s Baku International Sea Trade Port can work together in order develop the projects underway and to identify other new opportunities for cooperation in new projects, Director General of Port of Constanta Daniela Serban said in an exclusive interview with Trend.

“Having in view the MoU signed between the two ports, Constanta Port Authority, together with its port community, is willing to develop an efficient and prolific cooperation with Baku Port Authority. The views, opinions and experience can be successfully exchanged with the occasion of different meetings that are attended by both representatives of ports and other parties involved in different businesses related to transport along the corridor,” she said.

A particular importance can be related to the participation of both Constanta Port and Baku Port to specific promotional events organised by the two port authorities or other international organisers in the fields of transport, logistics and port operation etc, added Serban.

“We will continue to attract our partners to our events that are organised both in Romania and other countries in our hinterland, in order to promote the facilities and advantages of our ports. Here, we must mention that the representatives of Baku Port Authority successfully attended several annual editions of our promotional event "Constanta Port Day" in Krems, Austria and we think that they will also take into consideration to attend the future editions,” said the director general.

Serban went on to add that Constanta Port and Baku Port can promote each other as having great potentials that can contribute to the efficiency of the Caspian Sea-Black Sea corridor.

“We have already promoted Baku Port as a partner also for the clients using the Port of Constanta and for the port community that could take advantage of the facilities of Baku Port. As we mentioned before, both ports can take advantage of their strategic position and their good facilities and support each other in their incentives. At the same time, the ports can work together in order develop the projects underway and to identify other new opportunities for cooperation in new projects,” she said.
