4.5M tons of mining materials extracted in Iranian province

As many as 4.5 million tons of mining materials were extracted in Iran’s Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province this Iranian year (started on March 21, 2018), said Mehrdad Ghasemi, an official responsible for the mining and mineral industry affairs in the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of the Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, Trend reports with reference to the website of the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of the province.

He said that this volume of mining minerals was extracted from 186 mines in ten regions of the province with investments worth 653.8 billion rials (about $15.5 million).

He added that the extracted mining materials include gravel, crushed stone, silicon dioxide, fire clay, gypsum and cement. “Presently, 1,530 people are working in the mines of this province,” he said.

He noted that that, in addition to the construction sector, the extracted mining materials can be used in steel, aluminum and other sectors.
