As at April 2019 the number of operating entities of small and medium business amounted to 1.3 million, which is 11 percent more compared to 2018 (1.2 million), Trend reports via Finprom.
Furthermore, the major part of the manufacturing volume of small and medium businesses accounts for small business: 18.2 trillion tenge (68 percent). The value of manufactured production of medium business is 5.2 trillion tenge, of individual entrepreneurs is 1.8 trillion tenge and farm holdings - 1.3 trillion.
At the same time the number of the individual entrepreneurs is prevailing over other types of businesses.Thus, the percentage of individual entrepreneurship amounted to 65.5 percent (856,800) of the small and medium business by the end of April. The number of small businesses equaled 243,300 (18.6 percent). Some 205,000 subjects of small and medium business accounted for farm holdings.
The individual entrepreneurs are mainly based in Almaty (117,100, +7.9 percent).
In Nur-Sultan (former Astana) 83,300 individual entrepreneurs are operating and another 66,400 are in the East Kazakhstan region.
The percentage of these three regions in the structure of individual entrepreneurship accounts to 31.1 percent.
The largest increase of the number of entrepreneurs is observed in Nur-Sultan (annual +29.9 percent).
