The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development discussed transit and transport cooperation between Georgia and China, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Georgian Railway, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development and the delegation from China, including the Mayor of Lianyungang and the Chairman of the Consultative Council of the Lianyungang Port.
The meeting discussed in detail the prospects for the development of the so-called «Middle Corridor», already achieved success, as well as an increase in the volume of container traffic.
Special attention was paid to the distribution of subsidies within the «Middle Corridor». In particular, in addition to the Istanbul direction, Georgian delegation initiated the provision of subsidies for container transportation from the port of Lianyungang to European countries through the Georgian ports.
Discussions also related to the distribution of subsidies for transit traffic through the port of Lianyungang (to Japan, Korea).
