The construction of a solar energy plant is reaching the end in Turkestan region’s Arys city of Kazakhstan, Trend reports citing Khabar 24 news portal.

The capacity of the plant is to be 14 MW. The plant, which is situated on the area of 30 hectares, will be put in operation in October 2019.

The main part of the work has been done at this moment and all is left to bring necessary communications. The construction of the plant will allow to create 50 new work places.

“The plant is expected to be expanded next year. Currently, up to 70 sites of renewable energy sources are operating in Kazakhstan generating 250 MW of the solar energy,” said Nurlan Kapenov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Solar Energy Association of Kazakhstan.

“The South regions possess a really good solar radiation and the electric power capacity deficit is also there. Thus, the main target of this solar plant is to cover the deficit and to improve the environmental situation,” he added.
