Uzbekistan plans to attract loans for $2.2 B from Arab financial institutions

Uzbekistan plans to attract loans of the Arab Coordination Group (ACG) in the amount of $2.2 billion in 2019-2021, Trend reports with reference to a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, dated May 23.

The document approved a list of 29 projects worth more than $3 billion, of which $2.2 billion is planned to be financed by ACG.

The funds will be used to equip medical facilities, universities, the introduction of alternative energy sources, the reconstruction of sewage systems and the improvement of drinking water supply, as well as the construction of highways.

ACG includes the Islamic Development Bank and Arab financial funds - the Saudi Development Fund, the Abu Dhabi Development Fund, the OPEC Fund for International Development, the Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development.
