Iran’s Market Regulatory Committee has imposed taxes on the export of various dates, Trend reports referring to Fars News Agency.

According to the report, 80,000 rials (app. $0.59) worth of tax was imposed on every 1 kg of Mozafati dates, 50,000 rials (app. $0.37) on every 1 kg of Kabkab dates, and a 30-percent tax on other dates.

On April 30, Iran’s Market Regulatory Committee imposed a ban on the export of dates. However, this decision was eventually not implemented due to the objection by some officials.

Iran produces 1.1 million tons of dates per year and ranks 5th globally in terms of the export of dates.
