Import, export prices increase in Kazakhstan

In April 2019, the prices of exported and imported goods in Kazakhstan increased by 0.9 percent each compared to March this year, Trend reports referring to Committee of Statistics of Kazakhstan.

Compared to the same period of last year, in January-April 2019, the export and import prices increased by 13.2 percent and 8.9 percent respectively.

Since the beginning of the year, the price increase is observed in exports of coal (+21.9 percent), ferrous and non-ferrous metal ores (+10.8 percent), zinc (+10.3 percent), lead (+8.3 percent), Portland cement (+6.4 percent), copper (+6.1 percent) and oil (+6 percent).

However, prices on ferroalloys and ferrous metals rolling decreased by 10.8 percent and 1.9 percent respectively.

The export price increase is also observed on wheat (+13.6 percent), cotton (+4.4 percent), rice (+8.9 percent), barley (+2.2 percent) and wool (0.5 percent).

The import prices increase is observed on vegetables (+39.8 percent), sausages (+9.6 percent), milk products (+5.3 percent), margarine (+4.4 percent), coffee (+4.2 percent), fish (+3.9 percent), poultry meat (+3.1 percent), vegetable oil (+1.5 percent) and tea (1.3 percent).

The price decrease is observed only on imported sugar (- 6.4 percent).

Furthermore, the import prices also increased on plastic (+6.6 percent), wood (+5.7 percent), paper (+4 percent), and construction supplies (+3.1 percent).

In contrast, prices on imported leather decreased by 1.8 percent and prices on paints and lacquers decreased by 1.1 percent.
