Uzbekistan launches factory for production of jeans

A jeans factory has been set up in the Uzbek city of Almalyk, Trend reports with reference to the press service of Uztextile association.

As reported, the factory holds negotiations with foreign brands of jeans Colins and Levis on their participation in the project.

The enterprise has 27 sewing machines and other high-tech equipment for the production of jeans. The production capacity of the enterprise is over 150,000 jeans trousers and knitted jumpers per year.

Since the start of the factory’s work, more than 250 people got a permanent job.

According to the report, prices for denim products will be quite competitive compared to imported ones. It is envisaged that some of the products will be exported.

In Uzbekistan, jeans are also produced at Ekvatorial Chodak Group enterprise in the Babkent district of the Bukhara region. There, production of up to one and a half million pairs of jeans trousers per year has been launched.
