Share of goods in structure of Uzbekistan’s export reaches 80%

The value of Uzbekistan’s exports in January-May 2019 amounted to $6.42 billion and increased by 14.1 percent compared to the same period last year, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

The share of goods in the composition of exports reached 80.7 percent, including energy carriers and petroleum products (18.9 percent), textiles and textile products (10.2 percent), food products (9.4 percent), ferrous metals and products from them (1, 9 percent) and non-ferrous metals and products from them (6.3 percent).

Analysis of the dynamics of exports of goods and services also showed that in the reporting period, the volume of the exports of goods increased by $703.4 million compared with January-May 2018 and amounted to $5.18 billion.

The main partners in the export of goods and services in foreign trade were China (22.1 percent of total exports), Russia (14.5 percent), Kazakhstan (8 percent), Turkey (7.1 percent), Kyrgyzstan (4.6 percent), Afghanistan (3.3 percent) and Tajikistan (1.7 percent).

The composition of the exported goods to these countries includes a group of energy carriers and petroleum products, chemical products and products from them, as well as food products.

If in January-May 2018 goods and services from Uzbekistan were exported to 137 countries, in the same period of 2019 this figure increased to 142 countries.

The volume of exports of services in January-May 2019 amounted to $1.23 billion or 19.3 percent of the total exports, and increased by 8 percent.

Transport services and tourism, as well as telecommunication, information, computer and financial services are account for the bulk share in it.

The volume of exports of fruits and vegetables amounted to more than 592,800 tons and reached $466.8 million (growth rate in value terms was 53 percent).

Of the fruits and vegetables, more than 485,000 tons of vegetables were exported in the amount of $266.9 million, and 107,800 tons of fruits and berries were exported in the amount of $199.9 million.

In the reporting period, exports of textile products amounted to $653.7 million (10.2 percent of total exports) and increased by 21.9 percent compared with the same period of 2018.

The main share in the structure of textile exports accounts for cotton yarn (58.6 percent), and finished knitwear and garments (22.4 percent).

Since the beginning of the year, more than 336 types of goods have been exported to 50 countries of the world.
