Meat import down in Kazakhstan

The volume of imported meat to Kazakhstan by non-Eurasian Economic Union countries amounted to $8.5 million during January-May 2019, which is over 30 percent less than in the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to the report of State Revenue Committee.

The largest part of frozen meat import worth $7.9 million accounts for Ukraine. Furthermore, the meat was also imported from Paraguay ($316,500), Poland ($302,100) and Italy ($5,000).

During the reporting period, the meat import value decreased by 33 percent, compared to the same period of last year, when the value of meat import exceeded $12.6 million. During the reporting period of last year, the meat import worth $9.5 million accounted for Ukraine, $2 million accounted for Paraguay and $358,800 accounted for Poland.
