Project on construction of mining&metallurgical complex developed in Kazakhstan

The project on construction of mining and metallurgical complex with the capacity of production of one million tons of iron was presented to Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin, Trend reports with reference to the press office of prime minister.

Within the framework of working visit to Shymkent city, Askar Mamin inspected a number of investment projects in the sphere of metallurgy, pharmaceuticals, food industry and transport infrastructure development.

Prime minister got acquainted with the project on new passenger terminal in the city airport. The construction work was launched in June 2019 and is to be finished in June 2020. Following the put into operation, the passenger traffic of the airport will increase 10 times.

Mamin also visited "Shymkent Temir" export oriented metallurgical venture on the territory of Ontustik industrial zone, which was launched within the state program on industrial innovative development. The capacity of the venture is 250,000 tons of steel bloom a year.

Food industry plays an important role in region’s economy. The prime minister visited Rakhat-Shymkent LLP to familiarize himself with process of food production. Modern equipment installed at the enterprise allows to manufacture up to 24,000 tons of confectionery products a year. Askar Mamin was informed that the investment project on launch of new manufacturing line will be completed in 2020.

Askar Mamin instructed Head of the city administration Gabidulla Abdrahimov to activate the work with business community, expand the list of manufactured production and increase the manufacturing volume.
