Cargo turnover via the network of Kazakhstan Railways amounted to 107.6 billion tkm during 1H2019, Trend reports with reference to the press office of Kazakhstan Railways.
“During the reporting period the volume of cargo loaded amounted to 120 million tons, including 48 million tons of coal, 5.4 million tons of seeds, 9.7 million tons of ferrous ore, 8.8 million tons of construction materials, 12.8 million tons of iron ore,” the report said.
“The volume of transit turnover on the territory of the country exceeded seven million tons. The volume of cargo transported via containers exceeded 291,000 TEU, which is 141 percent more than during the same period of last year,” the statement said.
“The main route of the container transit is China-Europe-China. Over 146,000 TUE of cargo were transported on the route, which is 129 percent more than during the same period of last year,” the report said.
“A significant increase is observed in the volume of transit container transport via the territory of Kazakhstan on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. The volume of cargo transported here amounted to over 2,000 containers in TEU, which is 158 percent more, than during the same period of last year,” the statement said.
“Furthermore, the increase by 350 percent in also observed on the China-Iran-China route. The volume of cargo transported here amounted to 1,600 containers in TEU,” the report said.
