The Georgian company Geolive expects orders for olives from China in September this year, in addition to small batches of olives and olive oil, which are exported to Russia, Founder of Geolive Giorgi Svanidze told commercant.ge, Trend reports.
“So far our products are sold only in Belarus and Russia, but we intend to expand our export geography. In particular, we are sending trial batches to China,” he added.
According to him, in September-October 2019, the company also begins exporting olive products to Dubai, where it will be sold at Carrefour supermarkets. In November, Georgian olives will be sold in the hypermarkets of the French Carrefour Group in other countries.
As the head of the company noted, currently, Geolive owns olive plantations on 50 hectares, and it is intensively acquiring new plots to expand its area up to 3000 hectares in various regions of the country.
The company also owns the enterprise for processing of olives and production of olive oil. Five million lari were invested in the development of the business.
