The risks regarding the export of goods to Iraq and Afghanistan for Iranian exporters will be reduced, Managing Director of Export Guarantee Fund of Iran (EGFI) Afrooz Bahrami told Fars News Agency, Trend reports.

According to him, branches of the EGFI will soon be opened in the two countries to that end.

Bahrami added that branches are set to be opened in Iraq in two weeks’ time, and at a later point in Afghanistan.

"The EGFI will be involved in the provision of financial resources and circulation of capital in the field of export," he said.

Bahrami said that the establishment of EGFI branches in markets like Iraq and Afghanistan will be effective in increasing non-oil exports.

Due to problems Iran experiences in terms of conducting transactions with other countries and some other banking problems, Iranian exporters face various risks.

Iran exported $8.96 billion worth of products to Iraq last Iranian year (March 21, 2018 - March 21, 2019), importing $59 million worth of products from the country.

In one year, Iran exported $2.92 billion worth of goods to Afghanistan and imported $11 million worth of goods from the country.
