The revenues of JSC Georgian Railways from passenger traffic increased significantly and exceeded 11 million lari within 1H2019, Trend reports with reference to the website of JSC Georgian Railways.
This figure is 20 percent more compared to migration traffic for 1H2018, and 51 percent more compared to the international transfers of 1H2018.
The Railways said the growth in passenger traffic is explained by several factors.
While the railway transport is unprofitable, the company has managed to keep up the passenger traffic flow due to keeping the same prices and increasing the use of passenger trains.
"Georgian Railway" introduced an online service for the purchase of tickets. Tickets can be purchased through a mobile application.
