By Fakhri Vakilov - Trend:

Belarus has increased the supply of equipment of the Minsk Automobile Plant (MAP) to Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing Belta news agency.

“In 2018, the country received cars worth $2 million, and 180 vehicles for $18 million were delivered to Uzbekistan in 2019,” Belarus Ambassador to Uzbekistan Leonid Marinich said.

The ambassador explained such a high realization by the fact that Belarus was one of the first to certify trucks for climatic conditions.

“The equipment undergoes the most severe heat tests in Uzbekistan and MAP has confirmed their high quality. Last year, over 3,300 Belarusian tractors were assembled in Tashkent. This year it is planned to collect up to 5,000. At the same time, we create jobs there,” the diplomat added.

Marinich notes that six joint ventures have been established in Uzbekistan, one of which is with the Motorcycle Factory LLC. By the end of the year or in the first quarter of 2020, Belarusian products will be manufactured here.

Belarus has offered Uzbekistan to create large-scale projects in its territory for the production of cargo, special and trailed vehicles and buses on gas-engine fuel. MAP announced its readiness to participate in the creation of such industries with a high degree of localization.

In a year and a half, trade level of Uzbekistan and Belarus increased: in 2018, mutual trade increased for 23 percent ($169 million), in the middle of 2019 — 14.6 percent ($89 million).
