By Fakhri Vakilov - Trend:

Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine (AMMC) of Uzbekistan plans to send several lots of high-quality cement to Afghanistan by the end of the year, Trend reports citing the press service of the enterprise.

In mid-July of this year, the plant signed a number of contracts for the supply of these products to Afghanistan. Cement will be used in the construction of infrastructure and social facilities in several regions of the country. Deliveries will be made from the Jizzakh and Sherabad cement plants that are part of the structure of the AMMC.

The press service noted that the interest of Afghan companies in domestic cement is due to several factors.

Firstly, the Sherabad cement plant is by far the most southern enterprise in Uzbekistan producing such products. Therefore, transportation costs and terms for the delivery of cement to Afghanistan are less than other plants.

In addition, the industrial facility is located in the center of the logistics hub, which has a wide range of possibilities for the delivery of goods by any means of transport.

The company is actively increasing exports to neighboring countries. For example, the Jizzakh cement factory has already exported over 1,599 tons of white cement to Tajikistan, 1,280 tons to Kyrgyzstan, 512 tons to Kazakhstan and 147 tons to Turkmenistan.

Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine is the only copper producer in Uzbekistan. The company produces refined copper, metallic zinc, molybdenum, lead concentrate and other products.
