The design and budget documentation for the project on reconstruction of an air passenger terminal complex of the international airport of major Kazakhstan’s Shymkent city is 90 percent ready, the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development of Kazakhstan told Trend.

The source in the ministry added that the documentation is being developed by a local company Arhitektura-Dizain-Sh LLP, which provides architecture services.

“In accordance to the decree of the Kazakhstani government from July 31, 2019, the project has been categorized as one, which requires specific regulation and (or) urban planning and space standards regulations,” the source in the ministry added.

The renovation of the passenger terminal in Kazakhstan’s Shymkent city is planned within the Nurly Zhol program for 2015-2019.

The project is to be realized within the public-private partnership. Recently, a memorandum of cooperation between akimat (administrative center) of the city and SCAT Airlines has been signed on joint implementation of the project.

Nurly Zhol is a state program for infrastructure development of Kazakhstan.
