Russia to supply helicopters to Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan has reached an agreement on the purchase of medical helicopters manufactured by the Russian company Kazan Helicopter Factory, Trend reports referring to the Turkmen Government.

It was earlier reported that the Kazan Helicopter Factory of Russia’s Republic of Tatarstan is exploring the possibility of supplying Ansat helicopters to Turkmenistan.

Ansat helicopters can be used for a wide range of tasks, including cargo delivery, passenger transportation, search and rescue operations, patrolling, emergency medical assistance, etc.

Turkmenistan Airlines previously acquired two MI-17-1B helicopters from the Russian company for over $22 million.

MI-17-1B helicopters correspond to the VIP class and are designed for fourteen passengers with a maximum flight range of 600 kilometers.

Kazan Helicopter Factory OJSC has been manufacturing aviation equipment since 1940s and has been supplying it abroad since 1956.
