The Turkish government has granted the right to trucking companies of Uzbekistan to reload goods at the country's ports, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.

The corresponding decree was signed on August 14, 2019, by the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

These measures are taken as part of the implementation of the intergovernmental Agreement on the international carriage of passengers and goods, signed on October 25, 2017, during the visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Turkey.

Turkey is among the top five foreign economic partners of Uzbekistan and occupies a leading position in terms of bilateral trade (over $2 billion), exports (about $1 billion), and the number of joint and foreign enterprises with foreign capital (over 1,000)

Both countries plan to bring bilateral trade up to $5 billion in the near future.
